Car Recalls This Week: Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Audi and Porsche (Oct. 26, 2026)

Several major automakers filed safety recalls with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) this week, including Ford, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Audi, Porsche and Land Rover. One of them, from Porsche, comes with a Do Not Drive warning. Here is a summary of the passenger vehicle recalls, based on NHTSA recall filings as reported on October 26, 2026.

Recall repairs are free at an authorized dealer. The quickest way to check your own car is to enter its 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. Manufacturers also mail letters to registered owners, but that can take several weeks.

Ford F-150 and Super Duty Trucks

Ford is recalling certain 2026 F-150 trucks, 2025 and 2026 F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 Super Duty trucks, and 2026 F-750 trucks (recall 26V653). The speedometer and tachometer may display incorrect readings, which does not meet the federal standard for vehicle gauges. A speedometer that reads wrong can lead a driver to speed without knowing it.

Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid and Lexus NX

Toyota is recalling 2024 to 2027 Land Cruiser Hybrid models because fuel tubes may disconnect and leak (recall 26V673). A fuel leak near a heat source increases the risk of a fire, so owners who smell fuel should have the vehicle checked right away.

Separately, Toyota is recalling 2022 to 2024 Lexus NX, NX Hybrid and NX Plug-in Hybrid models for instrument panel display failures (recall 26V687).

Hyundai Elantra, Tucson Hybrid and Venue

Hyundai filed two recalls (26V692 and 26V693) covering select 2026 Elantra, Elantra Hybrid, Elantra N, Tucson Hybrid and Venue models. One involves loose fasteners that could cause a loss of steering control, and the other involves a risk of a wheel coming off. Owners of these 2026 models should check their VIN now rather than waiting for a letter.

Audi Q4 e-tron

Audi is recalling 2024 and 2025 Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron electric SUVs because of a risk of a high-voltage battery fire (recall 26V698). Owners should follow any parking and charging instructions in the recall notice until the repair is done.

Porsche 911 and 718: Do Not Drive

Porsche has issued a Do Not Drive advisory for certain 2024 911 Carrera GTS, GT3, GT3 RS, Turbo and Turbo S models, along with the 718 Cayman GT4 RS and 718 Spyder RS (recall 26V682). The center wheel locks may break, which could allow a wheel to come off. Owners should not drive these cars until the repair is completed and should contact a Porsche dealer to arrange it.

Range Rover

Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 2022 to 2026 Range Rover models because water can get into the rearview camera and damage it (recall 26V678), which can leave the driver without a working backup camera.

Buying a Used Car? Check for Open Recalls

Not every used car is repaired before it is sold. Private sellers in particular may not know about an open recall. Before you buy, run the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls and ask the seller for proof that any recall work was done. If the car you want has an open recall, the repair is still free at a franchised dealer for that brand, but make sure parts are available before you rely on it.

A vehicle history report often shows completed recall work, and our list of the top things to check before buying a used car covers what else to look at.

For Dealers

Dealers should check every used vehicle in inventory against open recalls, especially the Porsche models under a Do Not Drive advisory, and hold any affected vehicle until it is repaired. Open recalls are also a good reason to reach out to service customers, since a free repair brings owners back into the service drive. Being upfront about recall status before the sale prevents complaints and negative online reviews after it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check if my car has a recall?

Enter your car's 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. The VIN is on your registration, your insurance card and the lower corner of the windshield on the driver's side.

Do I have to pay for a recall repair?

No. Safety recall repairs are done free of charge at an authorized dealer for the vehicle's brand.

What does a Do Not Drive recall mean?

It means the manufacturer considers the problem dangerous enough that the vehicle should not be driven at all until it is repaired. Contact a dealer for the brand, which can often arrange to tow the vehicle in.
